I bought some floral green foam and cut it into the shape of a bird. Using Alex Loftus‘ suggestion, I covered it in plaster before painting it and then finally stuck it on the beach. It was so fun to watch people walk by it. At first they would go by normal, then a person in the group would glance over, followed by a double take, leading to everyone stopping to look. probably with the reaction, “is that a fake bird… yep that’s a fake bird alright… freakin random.” I also saw a little girl walk up to it, pat it on the head and keep walking…. yeah it was cute. Then after a few hours i went back and it was gone. I hope it went to a good home, and I’m glad i didn’t have to rescue it from high tide.
